The Haitian Christian Leaders Coalition has published its first annual Haitian Community Economic Trends Report, a comprehensive analysis of the economic landscape for Haitian-American families and entrepreneurs in South Florida.
Key findings from the report include: a 23% increase in Haitian-owned small businesses registered in Miami-Dade over the past two years; persistent gaps in access to small business loans and venture capital; and a growing demand for financial literacy programs in Haitian Creole.
The report also highlights the significant role that remittances play in connecting South Florida’s Haitian diaspora with families in Haiti, and calls for greater banking infrastructure to support safer and more affordable international transfers.
HCLC produced the report in partnership with local economic research organizations and will use its findings to inform advocacy priorities over the next 12 months. The full report is available for download on the Resources page.
