HCLC Hosts Town Hall Meeting with Candidates for Upcoming Elections

Sunday, July 26, 2026  · 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm

The Haitian Christian Leaders Coalition (HCLC) is convening a Town Hall Meeting with Candidates for the upcoming elections — an open forum for the community to engage directly with those seeking public office on the issues that matter most to immigrant families in South Florida.

A Forum Built on One Question

The dialogue will center on a single, direct challenge put to every candidate: “What is your vision for this community, and how do you intend to advocate for immigrant communities in this country?”

It is a question that cuts to the heart of what is at stake for thousands of Haitian and Caribbean families across Miami-Dade and Broward counties — families who are counting on elected officials to stand with them on immigration policy, civic representation, and economic opportunity.

Confirmed Participants

The following candidates confirmed their participation:

  • Jean Monestime — U.S. Congress
  • Dotie Joseph — Florida Governor
  • Miguel Quintero — District 2
  • Wrendy Mezidor
  • Juancito — District 107
  • Lavern V. Deer
  • Angela Wynter
  • Jinan Jules — Councilman, North Miami
  • Dinah Escarment — District 108

Your Voice. Our Community. Our Future.

HCLC believes that civic participation is not optional — it is the foundation of a thriving community. This town hall is an opportunity to hold candidates accountable, ask the hard questions, and hear meaningful commitments before Election Day.

All members of the community are encouraged to attend. Come ready to listen, engage, and make your voice heard.
