Haitian Christian Leaders Coalition

The Haitian Christian Leaders Coalition has officially launched its inaugural Civic Education Initiative, a 6-week program designed to equip Haitian Christian community members with the knowledge and tools to participate meaningfully in local, state, and federal governance.

Running simultaneously across 12 member churches in Miami-Dade County, the program covers voter registration, how to engage with elected officials, understanding local government structures, and how faith communities can advocate for policy change from a place of moral authority.

“Our faith is inseparable from our civic responsibility,” said HCLC’s leadership. “We want every member of our community to know that their voice matters — in the church pew and in the voting booth.”

The program features weekly sessions led by trained facilitators, guest appearances from local officials and civic leaders, and take-home resources in both English and Haitian Creole. The first cohort of participants will complete the program this spring, with a second cohort planned for the fall.
