Our Story
Founded in April 2024
The Haitian Christian Leaders Coalition was founded in April 2024 in Miami, Florida — a city that has long served as a crossroads for the Haitian diaspora. Born out of a deep conviction that the church cannot remain silent in the face of injustice, HCLC brought together pastors, bishops, and community leaders from across the United States.
From its first gathering, the coalition addressed urgent needs: the threat to Temporary Protected Status for hundreds of thousands of Haitian immigrants, rising discrimination, and the erosion of civic rights in communities across the nation. What began as a gathering became a movement.
Today, HCLC represents over 1,000 churches across 50 states and maintains an international presence — a testament to the breadth of Haitian faith leadership and the urgency of the work.

Scripture as Foundation. We are guided by Micah 6:8 — to do justice, love mercy, and walk humbly — and by the prophetic tradition that demands the church stand with the oppressed.
Non-partisan, Gospel-driven. Our work is not partisan. We cross political lines to advocate for the poor, the immigrant, and the marginalized — as the Gospel demands of every generation.
Unity in Diversity. We bring together denominations across the Haitian Christian landscape — Baptist, Pentecostal, Methodist, Catholic — united not by doctrine alone, but by a shared commitment to human dignity.
